“Harm’s Swift Way” is one of the last songs written by American poet and songwriter, Townes Van Zandt before he died in 1997 at age 52.
This post is dedicated to my friend, Edda, who passed away October 30, 2011—missed, never forgotten.
” … Oh me, oh my
Who’s gonna count my time
Oh me, oh my
Who’s gonna count my time
Time will go, it never stops
Memory locked in her passing
Try, oh try to cling to her
Until she becomes everlasting …
Oh me, oh my
Who’s gonna mark my time
Oh me, oh my
Who’s gonna mark my time …”

So sorry for your loss. This is an impressive tribute/memory.
Have a great week!
Thanks Lance, huge fan of Robert Plant in all his incarnations.

It takes a kind of strength as well as a creative and perceptive mind to find a song, which combines its music with those all important words, that helps us remember someone special
“..Memory locked in her passing
Try, oh try to cling to her
Until she becomes everlasting..”
and goes a long way towards making their memory everlasting. And so it does; and so it does, Eden.
Hi John, thanks for that. Music often expresses feelings that are difficult to capture any other way.

I think it is beautiful when a piece of music can bring back the memory of a loved one. I lost my BF of 33 yrs when we were 36 and I always think of her when I play Elton John’s song ‘Song for Guy’. Thank goodness for music and I love your choice, Eden, and am sorry you had to suffer the loss of a friend.
Thanks Glynis, kind of you to share too.

Beautifully written poetic eulogy, eden and I am truly sorry for your profound loss. Music can help heal that which sympathetic words may fail to do…
