This is the second time I’m featuring First Aid Kit, a Swedish duo made up of two sisters. It’s also the the first of October and my return to Musical Mondays from a brief hiatus.
Though I can’t seem to stop crying while listening to it, I love the lyrics and beautiful harmonies of this song. It’s hard to believe another summer has gone by.
Here is “Emmylou.”
“Oh the bitter winds are comin’ in,
And I’m already missin’ the summer.
Stockholm’s cold but I’ve been told
I was born to endure this kind of weather.
When it’s you I find like a ghost in my mind,
I am defeated and I gladly wear the crown.
I’ll be your Emmylou and I’ll be your June
If you’ll be my Gram and my Johnny too.
No, I’m not askin’ much of you
Just sing little darlin’, sing with me.
Now so much I know that things just don’t grow
If you don’t bless them with your patience
And I’ve been there before I held up the door
For every stranger with a promise
But I’m holding back, that’s the strength that I lack
Every morning keeps returning at my window
And it brings me to you and I won’t just pass through
But I’m not asking for a storm …”
enjoy,
eden

This is one of your best mondays. This means we’re going to have a great week, right?
I saw Emmylou twice. once when i was a little kid, then again when I was just out of college. Amazing artist
Thanks Lance! Yes, I think the week will be lovely
