“Creative States”

You can also hear me read this poem on:

Episode #17 of The Word Count podcast.

The prompt was “It happened so quickly I had no time to think, only react…ā€

Creative States

Naked in bed

Slouched over a laptop

Tapping at letters

Banging out words

Plotting and scheming

Writing and editing

An energy shift

The mind drained of thought

The body swept by lust

Impulsive heat

Warm and sticky

Wet with anticipation

Skilled hands

Playing with a firm touch

Exploring every curve

Fingers wedged between swollen folds

Hips lifted off the bed

Writhing for more

Hard frantic strokes

Grabbing at breasts

Squeezing and rubbing

Gasping for air

And a scream of release

Shallow breaths

  1. My dear, you need to write poetry more often. You say more with less, pit desire with turn of phrase better than anyone I know.

  2. Eden, you leave me breathless. Your poetry is exquisite. Your words searing and delightful. I love reading your writing.

    Deep Peace,

  3. Beautiful, Eden. Simply beautiful.

  4. That’s the best way I’ve ever heard to get back on track in the middle of a project. šŸ˜‰

    Nicely done, my dear!

  5. To know you is to love you more- friend. You have done what poetry is meant to do. Give power to words and cause the mind to open. And what Les said, LOL.
You are a poet to awaken the soul! Wonderful.

Someday my internet will be fast enough to hear your voice but maybe hearing it in my mind is enough.
