Music Monday with My Back Pages – THANK YOU (Part 2)

Since this is part 2, you know there was a part 1. If you missed it, please find it here.

“My Back Pages” is the perfect song for this Music Monday post for two reasons.

Firstly, in the back matter of many books, you’ll find an author’s thanks. So … this is my thanks to those who’ve helped with the promotion of Stranger at Sunset AND my recent free books—The Lottery and Unlocking the Mystery.

Secondly, this song echoes a sentiment I’ve been feeling of late, and that is …. The older I get, the less I know.

HUGS to those who’ve downloaded my books, paid or free, and reviewed them. Your reviews mean a lot to me and help me reach more readers, so THANK YOU.

STRANGER AT SUNSET with music – THANK YOU (Part 1)

They say it takes a village to raise a child. It takes even more to raise awareness for a new book.

Over the next few months, I’ll feature wonderful people who’ve helped me promote my latest release. They’ve done it in different ways and deserve recognition for their hard work.

I’m a huge fan of giving credit back to those who help me. It’s the polite thing to do, but beyond that, I know the time it takes out of one’s own schedule to help someone else. For that reason, I always try to recognize those who support me.

In no particular order, I present some of the best people to have in your social network. I’ve linked them, so visit their sites and connect. I can’t say enough good things about them, and it’s only the beginning.

I will be adding more names over the next few months, so if I didn’t catch you this round, please DO NOT hesitate to send me a note. I try to keep up with everyone who has spread the word. If I have missed you, it’s an oversight I will gladly correct.

♥ BIG HUGS to those who’ve bought a book and reviewed it on any of the Amazon sites:  US | UK | Canada and Goodreads ~ It’s greatly appreciated. Good or bad, your reviews mean a lot to me and help connect me to more readers, so THANK YOU!

sas_2kindleA vacation can be a killer

Dr. Kate Hampton, a respected psychiatrist, gathers with a group of strangers at her favorite travel spot, Sunset Villa in Jamaica. Included in the mix are friends of the owners, a businessman with dubious credentials, and a couple who won the trip from a TV game show.

It is January 2013, following the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The luxury resort is struggling, not from the storm, but due to a scathing review from caustic travel writer, Matthew Kane. The owners have invited him back with hopes he will pen a more favorable review to restore their reputation.

Even though she is haunted by her own demons, Kate feels compelled to help. She sets out to discover the motivation behind Kane’s vitriol. Used to getting what he wants, has the reviewer met his match in Kate? Or has she met hers?

Stranger at Sunset is a slow-burning mystery/thriller as seen through the eyes of different narrators, each with their own murky sense of justice. As Kate’s own psychological past begins to unravel, a mysterious stranger at Sunset may be the only one who can save her.

Stranger at Sunset ~ Sneak Peek ~ Releases 6.30.14

Last Monday, I introduced my upcoming novel, Stranger at Sunsetwhich releases June 30th. What a difference a week makes.

Since then, I’ve been busy setting up promotion for the book, and I’m thrilled to learn so many people want to help. THANK YOU to all those who have shared about it already. Your kindness is incredible.

It’s going to be a busy two weeks, but I’m looking forward to the frenzy of it. Below is a passage I will include in the book. You get to read it here first. 😉

sas_2kindle

Stranger at Sunset is a departure from a genre I’ve become known for—literary erotica. It’s also my first novel. Those who have read my novellas and flash fiction know that characters drive my stories. As much as I enjoy telling a good tale, I love writing about the motivations and actions of people. For me, a story exists because people make it happen. People do not exist because of a story.

A trip to Jamaica in 2013 following Hurricane Sandy inspired Stranger at Sunset. It is the first in a series I envision will include at least three books, if not more. It all depends on how much the characters have to say. Lucky for me, my protagonist, Kate Hampton has a lot to say. As with all my female characters, she is a strong, intelligent woman. But she is much more than that. She is complicated and passionate, and she is wicked. It has been a pleasure to discover her, and her story is just beginning.

With a natural curiosity for people and a fondness for psychology, penning a mystery with a psychological bent seemed the ideal choice for me.

I invite you to take a trip with me to Jamaica in Stranger at Sunset. It’ll be a vacation like you’ve never experienced.
